Argentina: new mobile statistics Print E-mail

The Comisión Nacional de Comunicaciones (CNC - Argentina's National Communications Commission) has published two new reports on the local mobile market.

One of them shows the market share between prepaid and post-paid mobile services in the local mobile market including the total amount of mobile telephones and the mobile teledensity.  Prepaid services hold 91% of the total mobile market and teledensity reached 81% by the end of 2006.

The second report describes the growth of mobile terminals used for prepaid and post-paid services between 1993 and 2006. The figures included in the report show how prepaid services had a major impact in mobile subscribers' growth in Argentina during the last seven years.
