Online Resources from African Telecommunications Regulators

A major difficulty for regulatory authorities across the African continent has been problems around attracting expertise to advise on the sector’s oversight. In the same vein, there are limited resources for collecting and maintaining statistics and indicators resulting in huge information asymmetries. This situation is gradually being addressed by the efforts of national regulatory authorities (NRAs), research networks such as Research ICT Africa (RIA!), and international organisations such as the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

The following table also includes country reports by ITU and prepared for the Telecommunications Regulators Association of Southern Africa (TRASA), in addition to resources available at the African national regulatory authorities’ websites. Other resources about the continent are listed after the table.
