WDR partner LIRNEasia will test its effectiveness as a virtual organization when it hosts a series of weekly colloquia related to the Six Country Indicators study being undertaken to measure telecom sector and regulatory performance in India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Draft reports with preliminary findings will be presented by the researchers connected via Skype and telephone links (for redundancy) to LIRNEasia's seminar room. A live weblog on LIRNEasia's website will capture the content of the presentation and the ensuing question and discussions. Presentations will be distributed before the colloquium date.
The Six Country Indicators is central to LIRNEasia's research program for 2006-07. It measures telecom sector and regulatory performance with a section on demand side data with an emphasis on effects on the poor.
