newsAs part of its plan to expand its activities and coverage in developing countries, the World Dialogue on Regulation has named regional correspondents for Africa, Asia and Latin America & the Caribbean. Robertine Tankeu, Divakar Goswami and Alejandro Artopoulos will work part-time from their home stations in Cameroon, Sri Lanka and Argentina respectively.

Among their tasks will be:

  • to identify and monitor key sources of relevant research, news and resources in the region and globally;
  • to identify, organise, contextualise and publish abstracts and descriptions of news, research, and other resources related to the LIRNE/WDR research and dialogue themes from their respective regions and globally;
  • to facilitate South-South and North-South communication and dialogue within the network and with the broad regulatory community;
  • to disseminate WDR, LIRNE and associated network research and research findings regionally and globally.

The correspondents are:

Robertine Tankeu is a researcher active with  Research ICT Africa (RIA!), ENDA's ICT and Gender Network based in Dakar, Senegal, and the Euro-African ICT network. Robertine is based in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Divakar Goswami has been Director of Organisational Development & Projects and a researcher at LIRNEasia in Sri Lanka since November 2004. Previously he was a researcher at Delft Technical University in the Netherlands. While in Delft, Divakar also worked on the WDR project.

Alejandro Artopoulos teaches at the Universidad de San Andrés in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is a PhD candidate at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Alejandro's research interests cover knowledge society and network economy issues. He will meet with the members of DIRSI (Regional Dialogue on the Information Society), WDR's partner network in Latin America & the Caribbean during an upcoming meeting in Santiago.
