The government of Singapore is considering using text message alerts on mobiles to keep people away from the site of a terrorist attack or large-scale accidents, said the home affairs ministry in a statement yesterday. South Korea and the Netherlands already use SMS alerts for such situations and India, Malaysia and Finland are also said to be considering their use. Source: Telegeography's CommsUpdate |
