Mobile phone operator Orange Romania will open three telecentres after winning a tender conducted by the domestic telecommunications watchdog, the company said.
Orange will be the first local provider of universal services – access to phone, fax, and computer services. All of these services will be available in the telecentres, company CEO Richard Moat said. The telecentres will be located in three villages in the counties of Dambovita, Arges and Suceava. According to company representatives, Orange Romania was the only operator to participate in the tender. Recently, Orange announced that it would invest up to US$ 200 million in Romania in 2005.
