| Nigeria: NCC Approves PHS License |

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has granted a license to the Jigawa State Broadband Access Company, to operate its Personal Handyphone System (PHS) telephone. Governor Saminu Turaki made the announcement when he signed into law a bill for the privatisation and commercialisation of Galaxy Communication and Interconnectivity between PHS and NITEL is being worked on by the state government and NITEL.
